Translation and Interpretation Services:

The Mercer Island School District provides limited English proficient parents with information in their own language so that they can make informed decisions about their children's education. This includes providing interpretation and translation services for vital meetings and communications. If you need assistance, please email Learning Services Coordinator Jan Kentnor.

Kindergarten registrations for the 2012-2013 school year will be accepted at Island Park, West Mercer, or Lakeridge School beginning Tuesday January 24 through Friday February 17.

Elementary Visitations for prospective MISD elementary parents will be held on March 23, 2012. More info...

Grades 1-5

Students in Grades 1-5 use this student registration form. You will also need to complete an D.O.H. Certificate of Immunization (Vaccines Required for 2011-12), a Home language survey, Transfer of Records and a Transportation form. From June 30 to August 15, completed paperwork should be returned to the District Office (4160 86th Ave SE). After August 15, completed paperwork should be returned to any of the three elementary schools. Registration at a particular school is based on space availability.

Grades 6-8

Registration can only be accomplished at Islander Middle School. Please contact the registrar at 206-230-6160 for appointment and questions. Please complete and bring the following to the appointment: a student registration form, a D.O.H. Certificate of Immunization (Vaccines Required for 2011-12), a Home language survey, a Gator Greeting form, and a Transfer of records form. A copy of the student's most recent report card and any national testing scores would be helpful. Please call 206-230-6160 beginning August 8 to set up an appointment to register your student.

Grades 9-12

Students in Grades 9-12 use this student registration form. You will also need to complete a D.O.H. Certificate of Immunization (Vaccines Required for 2011-12), and a Home language survey. You will also find the Four Year Plan of Study, Graduation Requirements for the Class of 2012 and beyond, the High School Profile, High School Course Descriptions and the Health Information sheet helpful. Students interested in sports should examine the MIHS Sports web pages and the Division I Academic Eligibility Requirements. Actual registration for the 11-12 school year can only be accomplished in person at Mercer Island High School. Students should call 206-236-3359.

VOTER INFORMATION

Our schools, as well as the City of Mercer Island town clerk, the Mercer Island Library and the Mercer Island Fire Station all have mail-in voter registration forms. You must be registered for 30 days before an election to be qualified to vote.

Registered voters may apply for absentee ballots 45 days prior to any election by mail, telephone, or in person at the King County Elections Office. Call 206-296-VOTE (8683) or FAX 206-205-5080. There is also an absentee ballot request form available on-line on the elections page of the King County home page: www.metrokc.gov/elections/index.htm
